Got word this afternoon that former Philadelphia Eagle Jon Runyan is seriously considering a run for Congress and his spokesman tells me that Runyan expects to make a final decision within 2 weeks. Runyan is a Republican. He would run for the 3rd District Congressional Seat now held by Democrat John Adler. But, the seat was long held by Jim Saxton, a Republican, until he retired. The recent Governor’s race also showed Republican strength in parts of the 3rd District. Adler, a first-termer, recently voted against the health care plan in the U.S. House.
